After the
first reading of Robert Blake Whitehill’s, DEADRISE (book 1 in the Ben
Blackshaw Series) the intricacy of the
plot, the intriguing and quirky men and women that fill this fabulous book
swept me away. It called me to reread it a 2nd time. To allow me to be once
again carried away by the smell of the sea and the exquisite and complex
plot, to be captured by the multifaceted and colorful Smith Islander’s as they
band together to save their island and culture.
So
captivating did I find this book as it gripped my mind as I stepped once again
upon Smith Island, cavorted with its
strong men and women. And I joined them to fight
off terrorists, the henchmen of a dirty politician, led by the narcissistic
Chalk, who would as soon kill friend or foe, in his determination to find Ben’s
father Dick Blackshaw and the gold he had stolen.
This
book contains all the elements that make a book great. I’d put it up against
any of Michael Crichton or James Patterson and believe you would find it the
winner too.
DEADRISE
carries all the elements of suspense, mystery, love, heartache, loss, greed,
and heroism, in this intriguing book. The strong male and female characters
both the good and the evil ones show us what mankind is capable of in its glory
and greed.
I for
one look forward to Robert Blake Whitehill’s next book in this series as well as
anything else he may write. He is a master storyteller and drew this reader in the book where I lived for a while and still
ponder its people.
I loved this book for it showed me both the good and bad in people, gave me insight into a highly dangerous type of person and kept me gripped with anticipation for the next page.
HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED!!!!!
